On 30 and 31 October, Europa-Park Resort welcomed a delegation from Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) for a two-day working visit focused on deepening knowledge and further cooperation.

The visit, by the lecturers from Attractions & Theme Park Management, marked 15 years of partnership and provided an opportunity for reflection, inspiration and future-oriented plans.

The visit focused on exchanging insights into current challenges in the world of location-based entertainment. Among other things, visits were made to the Welcome Centre for new employees, event locations, the amusement park, Rulantica water park and accommodation facilities, including the new Silver Lake City.

In conversation with Roland Mack
During the various backstage tours, sustainability and operational issues were frequently discussed. In a personal conversation with director/owner Roland Mack, we not only looked back on our shared history, but also looked ahead to new opportunities at the intersection of hospitality, attraction management, games and immersive media.

Since the first study project (on the use of Hyves and social media), Europa-Park and BUas have collaborated in countless ways. Various students from the Attractions & Theme Park Management programme wrote their theses for Germany's largest amusement park, and there is a marketing and minor assignment almost every year. One of these assignments has also been realised in the park: the Molencafé in the Dutch theme area. There is also collaboration in the field of scientific research. Several graduates have since found jobs at the resort.

The openness and commitment of the Europa-Park team made a deep impression. The insights gained are incorporated into the teaching material, case studies and workshops. Both parties look forward to continuing this fruitful collaboration. The shared ambition to inspire students and jointly build meaningful projects forms a solid basis for the future of themed entertainment and education in leisure, hospitality and tourism.
